Our People
Carin Doben, Founder (retired)
Art Quest Programs was created by Carin Doben in 1985. When Carin’s children were in elementary school, she noticed they were not receiving an arts education that emphasized visual thinking skills. With degrees in both Art History and Education, Carin felt she had a valuable perspective to share so she began volunteering in classrooms. Soon thereafter, Carin parlayed her skills into a career and was hired by schools across Massachusetts to bring programming into classrooms. In doing so, Carin was able to enrich students’ educational experiences by exposing them to works of art that encouraged and empowered thought-provoking dialogues about the arts. Carin is an accomplished and award-winning artist who continues to serve as inspiration for Art Quest Programs every day. |
Perry Pomeroy, Director
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Perry spent several years working in the travel industry which cultivated her love of the arts. In 2002 Perry transitioned to education, and in 2005 she joined Art Quest and began training with Carin Doben. Inspired by Art Quest’s ability to speak to all students, regardless of individual learning style, Perry quickly learned the ropes and began presenting programming to students in grades K-8. In 2009 Perry took over as the owner of Art Quest and continued to teach throughout Massachusetts for years. Today, Perry works behind the scenes to manage the program development and administration of Art Quest Programs. |
